mark item "do not print" Office 2007

Is it possible to place a text box on a word doc & have it not print?

i.e. to contain some instructions or notes.

I can accomplish w adding a comment, but...
 
A simple way is to format the text as hidden. You would have to make sure
that people using the document have hidden text displayed (and that they are
not printing hidden text, of course).
