Mapping a Unix drive to Vista x64

I need to map a unix drive to Vista x64. I have tried the simple mapping a
network drive tool and it gives me the error Windows cannot find the network
path. I have 6this working on many other XP machines and need to get it
mapped for Vista x64. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in adnvance for any
help.

This may help if you are using Samba

Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that I am using Vista Ultimate
x64. I am also not using Samba. When I did a iptrace the only difference
between an XP machine that does connect to the unix drive and my vista was
the port for source and destination were different. The XP box goes to
Source=3601 and dest=139 but the vista goes to 49775 and 445. Any more ideas?

Do you have NETBIOS enabled on the Vista computer? I could be wrong but I
think Windows uses 445 (SMB over TCP) by default then switches to NETBIOS
(139) if that doesn't work.

Thanks for that idea, it wasn't something that I had thought about. I did
check and change the settings but I get the same result with NETBIOS on/off.
Any other ideas floating around that I could try or check? I appreciate the
help so far.

I'm out of ideas :-(

I don't have any Unix boxes to play with and all my Linux boxes use Samba. I
was going from memory using Windows 2000 with a Unix server. Here's the
obvious troubleshooting tips. Sometimes looking at list may jog your memory.
Try disabling IPv6. Make sure the Unix server is resolved properly via DNS
and NETBIOS on the Vista box. Make sure the permissions are correct. Try
lowering the authentication level on the Vista box.
