Map to database graphical interface: How

Does anyone know how to place a map picture with different coloured elements
to provide a menu for table choices?
ie. like some web pages with a map of the world that lets you pick each
continent?

Web pages do it with "hot spots" which are irregularly shaped transparent
areas, within which you can click on a hyperlink. Access has a transparent
property to a command button which could do something similar.
Unfortunately, you are limited to a regular quadrangle.
