Manual split into Chapters with linked diagrams & photos - How to

I have a manual that was designed using separate folders for doc resources
and graphics. The person who created the document linked all of the graphics
and diagrams. I'd like to imbed the photos within the document as a whole in
order to make the doc (manual) available to send out complete with everything
together.
Any "easy" solution using 2007? In addition someone decided to 'update' said
document using an old version and I need to combine the two. The updated
document he worked on and the complete document with linked files imbeded.
Pointers Appreciated!!!

If it's a manual, I would recommend sending it out as a .PDF file and using
the Acrobat facility to create a .pdf from multiple files.

THanks but that's what I done the last time this was requested. Now I have to
provide a doc for use by a third party to edit for their use. Acrobat by
nature kind of negates this.

Is there any way to change linked pictures in a doc to imbeded?
The doc was written in word 2003 and I'm using 2007
Thanks,

CJP
