Manual Savings / Publishing

Previously when I worked on Frontpage 2003 updating and creating web pages,
the edits were saved by my doing (control) and an asterisk appeared on the
tab of the edit page. I particularly used file save rather than publish.

PROBLEM: Now - no asterisk appears on the file page's tab to indicate that
I have made edits which are not saved. Instead, the webpage is being
saved/published automatically. This I do not want, I need to control the
publishing of when my edits are published on the web. I do want auto save.
I was shocked to see my edits which I thought I was discarding on my website.

Please help ! ! ! How do I change the settings so that the file (webpage) I
am working on does not update automatically, but rather by my controll, I
want that asterisk back. I did not change any setting, at least not
intentionally.

Thank you.

The only autosave feature in FP is in File Preview in Browser (save before previewing)
There is no auto publish in FP
(if you are working on your live site what you save is what people see)
