manipulating clip art

How do I remove an item from a clip art picture in Power point? For
instance, how do I delete a woman sitting at a table and leave the table. I
have been working on this for days. I am using Powerpoint 2003.

Right click on the clipart, click Grouping > Ungroup.
When prompt to convert, click yes.
Right click on the clipart and click Grouping > Ungroup again.
Now, you can remove the woman.
