Your problems may not directly relate the action taken by Norton.

Do not use System Restore until you have removed the Trojan
as if System Restore works it could bring the problem back.
You need to create a new restore after removal.
What Norton programme are you using? You most likely have
other Spyware which Norton may not detect. Here a choice of
other freeware anti-spyware programmes you can use:

Msconfig is a troubleshooting which unfortunately too often is used
to manage what loads at Start Up. There are other better ways to do this.
Always look in the programme itself first for a way to control whether it
loads
when you boot the computer.
