Manage-establish Editable areas not visible in Design View

I need to establish at least one editable area in the <head></head> area to
allow for changing the title and meta data and menu listings (the last
referenced by a java script).

I have absolutely no problems with ediatable areas in the <body> tag, but
the ones in the <head> tag result in errors (no pages are updated) virtually
every time I change the template.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

What are you using for a region name?
- an Editable region means the content in that region are Not updated in your other pages

<!-- #BeginEditable "PgHeadTitle" -->

and

<!--#BeginEditable "MetaData" -->

Exactly, I don't wat those -- the page title and the page metadata updated
-- neither are the same for all the pages, each has to be customized.

Then just edit the content inside those tags on each page

The problem is not with the pages but with the template. When I subsequently
make a change to the template -- like adding a link -- and try to save the
template I receive error messages and the attached pages are not updated.

I then have to go to the 35 different pages, unattach them from the
template, strip out the template areas and re-attach the template to get the
changes to the page, then re-edit the editable areas in the <head> area.

There has got to be an easier way!

What error messages?

Provided you have not changed any existing editable regions, there is no
need to detach pages from the template - simply attach the template
again.
