Malware taken over my PC help!!

Hi,

I have lost control of my dell laptop that's currently running on windows XP. No control panel, no task manager. Anyhoo, from what I can gather after hours of research (after several scans by AVG free didn't help...and I can't seem to do a system restore either) I guess you guys need that HJT thing in order to best help me.

This may be a dumb question....but I need to make sure. I need to save all pics and personal files to discs first right?

Not a dumb question, but Yes, back up all data & software you want to keep to CD-R or DVD-R Discs.
ALL will go when you reformat your Hard Drive!

Yes, definitely - if you format and re-install you will lose everything. Be 100% sure you have everything backed up before hand

Remember to include things like: Documents, Favorites List, E-Mails, Photos etc...
