Hello!
Ok, so I've been working on a little form that might allow my users to set a
custom picture for the splash screen, a custom application title and custom
icon, without having access to the database window. Ok, I hit some snags,
but I think I've got through them ( * ). Today, as I chewed on my lunch
bagel, I was tinkering and thought...."Wouldn't it be nice if I could have a
browse button to browse/select the file, rather than expecting the user to
type it in... That'd be way too hard, right?
BUT... when I took a gander over on Roger Carlson's site, I found a demo
showing exactly how to do this. AND, with a little more work, I realized
that I could use the FileOpen dialogue (...courtesy of Ken Getz) and set it
to open at the directory of my choosing AND limit it to the appropriate type
of files!! This is GREAT!! Now I have a browse button that will allow the
user to browse/select a file, and it is limited to the types of files that
will work! It looks so professional!
Ok, so maybe it's weird to be excited by this, but this is the kind of thing
I find that makes working with Access so fun! And it's due to the kindness
of strangers just posting solutions that make me look good, for free, out of
the goodness of their hearts! Thanks Roger, and Ken, and all of you!
Cheers!
