Making IME editor work after installing Chinese on XP

I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled chinese language on XP, but
cannot get the input mechanism (IME) to work. The language bar is
there and I am able to toggle from english to chinese, characters are
displayed in my IE favorites and when I browse chinese websites,
chinese lettering is displaying accurately. Yahoo.Messenger/Mail and
MSWord does not permit chinese character input either.


Please help?

Control Panel/Regional and Language Options/Languages/Details/Add
