Making a DVD

Can I use maviemaker to convert and AVI file into a format that can be
played on a DVD player?
 
No, you need to use other software to convert the files to the MPEG type
needed for a VCD, SVCD or DVD, and then use other software to make the disc
..... see the CD and DVD sections of my site for some of the software being
used.

No,
Movie maker only outputs to .wmv and .avi on publish. You would need to use
other software to convert to mpeg-2 for dvd. For more info check out
www.papajohn.org under the DVD burning section
