Make text follow a curved path

Is it possible to "bend" text around a line or object? I have a picture of a
wheel and want the text to follow its circumference; my hope is to create an
ellipse the same shape as the wheel, run the text along it and then delete
it, leaving my text to be dragged across to the wheel...

You will need to use graphics editing tool such as Photoshop to do it.
WordArt has some curve styles which you might want to take a look at though.

Create your text as individual letters and use a custom motion path. The
easiest way would be to create one letter, add the custom motion path and
then copy and paste for the next letter, then edit the letter and make any
placement adjustments. This way all your letters are using a consistent
motion path.

Thanks - I hadn't thought of word Art. I've had a look now; unfortunately it
doesn't quite cater for my requirement, so it looks like I'll have to work
something our in Photoshop as you say.

I hadn't originally intended to make the words move (I was just tryind to
place them on a curved path) but the thought is intriguing. I'll see how I go
with the fixed version first and maybe try the animated one if I have time -
thanks for the idea.

You can still do this in PowerPoint. Make your individual letters in their
own text boxes, modify the rotation and placement slightly for each letter
until they align the way you want.
