Make resizing of file dialogs permanent?

Windows XP has resizable File dialogs, which is a great thing.
Unfortunately, after a restart they always default to the same tiny
standard size, although I have a screen the size of Texas. :)

Is there a way (e.g. by modifying the Registry) to give the File
dialogs in all or certain applications a bigger default size and maybe
even set them to "Details" view?

File Open/File Save dialog boxes. In most modern apps running under
Windows XP, you can resize them. Is there a way to make the selected
size permanent?

Gotcha.

Try this....
Open Save As or whatever, don't Save, just resize. Hold down the Ctrl key
while left clicking the Close [X] in the upper right hand corner.

Tried this before, as it works with regular windows. However, it does
*not* work with File Open/Save dialogs. After quitting and opening an
application (e.g. Textpad, Notepad) again, they are back to their
original size.

Any other ideas? Anyone? :)
