I have always wondered why Outlook closes fully rather than having a run in
the background option from the task bar. At present it seems you must have
outlook fully open to periodically receive email, and receive alerts for
meetings. If it ran in the background all the time until closed as with msn
messenger, it would be more useful. Alerts could be received by way of
notification boxes on the screen and mail could be indicated by the outlook
icon changing to an envelope with in out arrows during sending. Anti Virus
and firewall programs would still control the security side of things. A
simple click on the taskbar icon would go straight to the inbox. The program
could also start up when a user logs on, but instead of on screen, just open
up in the reduced task bar mode. If this is already an option and I have
missed it please let me know.
