make a sound file fade out at transition

If I have one slide play music - insert sound file - can I get Powerpoint to
fade out the music rather than just dead stop the music when I mouse click
to the next slide? I have this need because of not knowing when I need to
stop
playing the music until the actual presentation happens and it would be nice
to fade out rather than stopping the music abruptly. Or an action
button that fades sound?

PowerPoint doesn't have that functionality. You would need to fade the
music manually, using the volume control for the speakers/sound system.

I took an MP3 and played it through Music Match, and recorded the sound
I wanted on a slide, You can record the music to fade also. I believe it
was an option in Music match to fade the endings.

PowerPoint does not have the level of audio playback control that you are
looking for for inserted sounds.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to how
PowerPoint improve it's options for controlling the playback of audio (such
as fade in/out), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
