Hopefully someone here can give me some help, please! About 2 month
ago I tried upgrading my computer to XP Pro from 98 SE, at the time m
computer only had 64 MB of ram on it. Needless to say that thi
installation did not work. I assumed that memory was the reason why.
Any time I restarted my computer, though, XP would always pop up as
choice along with 98. Well just the other day I installed 128 MB o
RAM into my computer and decided that I would try to install it again.
The first time it would not install because it said that I had tw
Operating systems on my computer. I tried to Uninstall it, but ther
is no OS two uninstall except 98. After that I tried booting it fro
the disk and installing a fresh copy and that still hasn't worked.
have received numerous errors, all different. Most say that some fil
is missing (different files each time). One support site suggeste
that I find the Windows and delete them. Tried that to no avail. No
at startup there are three choices: XP, XP, and 98. Someone suggeste
that I erase my C: partition, but I don't want to risk losing files i
this is not going to work. Any ideas you could provide would b
greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your urgency. Also
bought Office to go with XP and now i'm stuck with that until XP i
working

What I would do is get an old hard drive and reformat it, and install a
fresh copy of windows xo onto it, then you can use norton ghost to copy the
new installation on to the newer drive
