MG.

hi to all. i have a 4 poc home lan that was working FLAWLESSLY for years.
NO problems, no connectivity issues, no nothin'. i set it up myself
through a linksys harwired router, cable modem and 3 desktop pc's running
win xp and a laptop running xp pro. about a month ago i started getting
very sluggish network performance from my pc (of course, it couldn't be one
of the kids!)
the web browsing was painfull slow and authentication was hit or miss when
i was required to log in. i let it go for a while, now it's unbearable. i
have sporadic access to my opther shares, i can intermittently send e-mail,
i can't send ANYTHING with an attachment and i can NOT do a system restore.
i have no clue what happened, i've been using pc's for years, have
congifugred networking for years and i am totally clueless here.
i'm tempted top do a repair install of xp, or just reinstall period, but i
have limited time to play around.
when i tell you it was working perfectly, i'm not kidding. my lan was
unbelievably fast, no issues, and now i'm screwed!
help?

regards
morey

You have used antivirus and antispyware to search for trojans and such,
right?

I recommend Spysweeper and AVG.

You can get the freeware versions of Ad-Aware SE and Spybot32 (for
antispyware) and the free edition of AVG Antivirus by following the links on
our website at www.hubbardsoftware.net.

Run them and let us know what they find.
