Maintaining .avi format when burning DVD

J

Joe Hissen

I am getting such excellent results with the .avi Video Clips
format that I want to maintain this format when burning a DVD.

I think the converting compression deteriorate the .avi quality.

Is this possible? I don't think so, but thought I would ask.

I can use double layer single sided DVD Discs.

Thank you.

Video on the DVD consists of MPEG2 format. Some programs allow you to select
the bit rate when encoding to MPEG2. Maximum bitrate for normal DVDs is
9Mbps. This should be sufficient for normal purposes.

Higher than that you should be looking at the HD (high definition) DVD
