Is there more to your error message?

If something similar to this try the fix.

MainAutomation is a function of some programs. Did you install new software
recently.

If not using these tools I suggest you get and run them.
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

"mainAutomation server can't create object" is the only
thing in the box. i have run spybot and adAware several
times. i tested for parasites. i saw one place that said
it was a memory worm that norton would not detect, so i
ran the removal tool for that worm. it said my system is
not vulnerable to it. i have seen other people ask this
question but have not found a working answer yet. i am
tearing out my hair!! thanks for your help!

If all fails, then check for new variant of some nasty parasites.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.
