Mailing a word doc with preset tabs and margins

I would like to know if there is any way to email a word
doc and have it retain all of it's margins, fonts and
tabs.
Every time I send a large word doc it looses it's settings
and the person receiving the doc has to reformat it.
Please help!!!!

Are you sending the document as an attachment? If so, and it's still losing
its format, you may want to zip it up. But also see

haven't set custom tabs but are using the built-in ones, see
