mailbox name could not be resolved

Daniel Brower

I just recently installed Exchange 2000 Server, and I'm trying to get
Outlook 2000 to work with it. When I try to set up Outlook, I get the
following errors when I check for a mailbox name:

The name could not be resolved. Network problems are preventing connection
to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Contact your system
administrator if this condition persists.

The name could not be resolved. The action could not be completed.

I was careful to type the mailbox name excatly as it appears in Active
Directory, which is the first name, space, middle initial, period, space,
last name.
