Mail print size

New to Windows mail. I type and view screen using Ariel size 10 but when I
print out mail I get size 12. I can't find a way to change it and it's
annoying.

Print font size is controlled by a setting in IE:
Page, Text Size, Smaller.

And IE will print with Shrink To Fit as the default. When you're printing
from IE, you can select another size via Print Preview but the only way to
change it for a Windows Mail message is via a Reg hack.

First of all the term IE does not register with me but I have been somewhere
where I can change text size and it does not ifluence the mail print out.
Document printing works fine, what I see is what I get. I do not wish to set
up each separate job for printing. I want it to happen automatically all the
time. I guess I'll have to take it to a pro for the Reg hack. I wish I had XP
back and not for just this.
Just a thought, would going to Outlook fix this? I'll have to do that anyway
to sync my cellphone.

IE is a common abbreviation for Internet Explorer, the web browser
that is on every PC.

I don't know about Outlook. You would have to ask in an Outlook
newsgroup.

The hacks for OL, WinMail, and OE are detailed in the MORE INFORMATION
section at the bottom of this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932538

NB: Your machine does NOT need any of the hotfixes or updates listed on the
page!! Do NOT attempt to install them!!

============================

Other workaround options include:

1. Before opening the message to print it, enable Tools | Options | Read |
Read all messages in Plain Text;

2. File | Print | Preferences | Orientation | Switch to Landscape mode.

YW. Note that the Reg hacks are permanent (e.g., if you configure an OL
message to print at 100%, all OL messages will print at 100%).

That fix sets a limit to how small the "Shrink To Fit" can reduce the
text size. The OP's complaint was about the print using 12 pt font when
he wanted 10 pt.
