Mail not sent due to antivirus protection

Hello,
I'm working on a windows service that send email using CDO every time a
threshold is reached; Norton Antivirus Mail Filter block SMTP connection.
I know that it's not a VB issue but I think that somebody experienced the
same problem sending mail automatically with the Norton Filter installed.
Is there a workaround or a suggestion ?

Isn't it possible to disable blocking of SMTP in Norton AV?

I already think on this solution, but sometimes it's mandatory to have it
enabled.
