Mail moves to my Outbox, the date automatically changes to None?

When I send mail, the mail moves to my Outbox. I then press "Send and
recieve" and the mail moves to my "Sent Items" folder. Previously, the mail
would be sent to the recipients when I did this, but now nothing is sent. On
careful inspection, I noticed that once the mail enters the Outbox, the date
changes to "None". I am completely lost and have no idea how to fix this
problem. Please help?
