"Mail Message at Log In" resolved (sort of)

Hi Kelly & all others...

The issue surrounding the log in message that had suddenly started to appear
-- "1 Unread Mail Message" -- has turned into a mystery, instead. The
message is no longer there. It disappeared, despite the fact that I took NO
steps in the registry or anywhere else to eliminate it.

I am very glad it is gone, but nevertheless feel haunted by 2 questions:
(1) What caused it in the first place? and (2) what made it go away?

Random, temporary anomoly, or deeply technical issue that is crystal clear
to someone who knows the code? Personally I would be very interested in
hearing.

Many thanks,

Paul G.

Sorry about this. I thought my message would post with the thread I started
yesterday in which I explained that I don't use Outlook for email, that the
message at log in had just shown up in the last few days, that there was NO
unread email in my Eudora "In" box, etc. You can find the original thread
under Windows XP General.

Many thanks for your interest.
