I have been able to merge an Excel data into mail merge in the past without a
problem.
Today when I try, I keep getting Word unable to open the data.

My Excel sheet has a numer of worksheets. I can not even pick the worksheet
now.

Can anyone offer any suggestions.

Tks,
Jeff

I am currently using MS Word 2003 Professional.

Just not sure what happened. I was able to print mailing labels yesterday,
the same way I always do it and now it can not find the data. My Excel file
has a number of worksheets on it and I just clicked the one I wanted. If I
check the Confirm conversion box in options it does not give me a choice as
to what worksheet I need, justs want to print to complete file.

ISTR that Word "sees" only the top worksheet in Excel, but it may be that if
you have a named range in another sheet you can specify that. If you don't
get a satisfactory answer here, try posting in
microsoft.public.word.mailmerge.fields.

Actually I'm having that same problem today.
I'm using MS Word 2003 Professional and I've been able to perform
the Mail Merge for months, this day it whites out and acts like it
generating the labels but after a long pause it just hangs. Infinitely...
Can someone else please help.

Karen,

I followed the advise of another MVP on this problem and had to re-generate
the worksheets. For some unknown reason the file was messed up and and
redoing the complete worksheet it works as before the problem. It maybe what
you will have to do also.
