Mail merge with a stationary

Hi, I am trying to create an email shot with a stationary I created myself. I
am using the office 2003 suite so that is all perfect. In Outlook I created a
Stationary by using a HTML file - with embedded links-, and selected not to
have a background picture. When I am clciking on "new email" the stationary
shows up and I can send it as is.

When I try to do this as a mailmerge to email, the stationary is not used it
seems.
Next I tried to import the htm file in Word to make is visible that way. No
luck.

Then I attempted to attach the htm file, but it came up just as that: an
attached file...

So how can I make the stationary - whcich is being used as the actual thing
I want to send - visible in my email merges ?

I imagine it is very simple and I am just overlooking something....

Thanks in advance for any help!

Everything needs to be in the Word merge document, so try this. Display the HTML file in your browser, then copy and paste to Word. Then run the mail merge and choose to edit the currently open document. Save it as a Word document. When you run the mail merge, choose to use that existing saved document.

Great Sue!!

I am halfway there now... Now all I need to know is how the links are going
to be added there, as the only thing copied from the browser was the actual
picture. I had dedicated areas with hyperlinks on the picture, but I guess
that can be solved in Word itsself?

But I am further now than I was...

Thanks again!!

You mean you had link maps on the images, not just a single link on each one? I don't know if Word can handle that.

I hacked it Sue!!

I just add transparent boxes to the picture and put the links to them. Works
a treat.
So I am ready to roll now!!

Thanks for your swift help.

Well I indeed found a way of doing it. Just draw rectangles or anything on
the picture, then while the autoshape is selected go to Format - Borders and
Shading - Filling and Lines. There you adjust transparancy to 100 % and you
select NO LINE.
Then Rightclick on the shape and add a hyperlink.

It is a bit of work but as long as you can save it, you'll only do it one
right :))

That's sneaky, but cool. It works OK for the recipient?

Yep, I testsent it now to 5 addresses and it does still look good in Eudora,
Incredimail, Hotmail and Yahoo. And of course Outlook....

As long as they have no imageblocking on it seems to work...

A new era has begun hehehehehe

Of course it would be better if I could implement the HTM file directly, as
it will save me quite a bit in size... 5kb or now... 179 kb. So if you have
an idea for that....
But in the mean time I can work with this perfectly :)

Well I'll learn! I'm NEW (DUH) - I clicked "post" & no comments DUH! I
figured out what I did wrong - obv, not a geek! What "I" want is HOW to take
a picture (and what should I create the picture as (bitmap, gip, etc.) and
create it for Stationary In Outlook Stationary in Office 2003 wherein there's
a new option to "create stationary"? I can "take other's statonary" -
figured that one out! BUT, HOW do I create my own from a picture I found and
take it to work with Outlook?! I notice in Stationary under App Data that
each file is the picture AND the "E" (explorer" set to picture also) for
internet?! Can you help?!
