MAIL MERGE! PLEASE HELP

For the past one hour, I've been trying to merge data
from an excel spreadsheet into word to create labels.
However, going through the entire process of how to
create labels I am ending up with no information on the
document except the message <<New Record>> for eac
label!!! Why is that... it's getting sooo frustrating.
Can anyone help, please?
