David, if your macro security settings are set to High,
macros will not run. If you lower them to Medium you will
get a warning pop up before they run. Setting to Low runs
all macros without warning, which is not always the best
option if you ever deal with a document not coming from a
trusted source.
To lower the setting click...
Tools | Macro | Security | Security Level: and select
Medium or Low.
