whenever i go to some page a window appears asking whether I want to install
macromedia flashplayer, I always say no but it appears again and again. how
can I get rid of it?

Whenever a web site uses any Flash script, XP checks to see if Flash player
is installed. In IE, if XP does not find Flash player, it activates Flash
player ActiveX installer.

Why do you not want the Flash player installed?

Same reason as mine probably.

Advertisers have begun to use Flash as a method for creating annoying and
distracting content.
I don't have the stupid thing installed either.

I think the problem is pop-ups based on flash. One way to solve the
problem is to uninstall flash altogether (and not let Windows entertain
flash either -- not sure how to do that). But I prefer installing and
using Firefox (http://www.getfirefox) and install Adblock plugin
(http://adblock.mozdev.org/) and FlashBlock plugin
(http://flashblock.mozdev.org/). These will give you full control over
which flash animations to let play on any page you visit. Enjoy!! :)

Sam.

After much frustration with the flash player, I went to the Macromedia site
and downloaded both old and new Uninstallers per the support group
instruction, and just reinstalled the flash 7, and it worked perfectly on my
SP2.
