My flashplayer went bad on me a few weeks ago -- maybe because I was trying
to update my Adobe Acrobat and ended up downloading the Adobe Reader (which I
had no use for and I eventually removed). I've tried to removing it and
reinstalling it and I've checked that my updates are all in good order, but
nothing seems to work. I've also checked the firewall to make sure it was
allowing the installation. I suspect it's an ActiveX, but I've installed
every one that seems to be permitted.
Any ideas?

When you go to www.macromedia.com do you see the flash movie at the top of
their home page?
In your browser, do you see any errors (lower left hand side of the status
bar)?

No, no errors and no flash movie. It seems to indicate that the installation
was successful but it doesn't work. I've tried their support, too, and
checked the problems they signify as the most common but still can't seem to
get it to work.

Try using Firefox or another browser to see if you can isolate the problem
to IE.

I am having the same problem. Everything appears fine on Ma website. I
downloaded the Adobe thing too! When I try to uninstall Mac Media 8 it says
it is in use???

Try posting this as a new thread, as few people are likely to see this.

NB: Best to avoid "Me, too!" posts - if you have the same issue as someone
else but no advice to offer to rectify it, best to just watch the thread to
see if the OP gets any satisfactory results. And if you don't, after the
thread is old and stale, post a new message.
