Macromedia Download request

Repeatedly a Macromedia Download request (Popup) appears on my screen.
How can I stop it
I don't want Macromedia on my computer because it enables advertisements that I can't stop.
 
Same problem I had, get adshield all it takes is a right
click on the offending ad and it won't appear again,

also get spyware and adaware and invest in a firewall

also take a look at disabling your internet messenger.

Isn't this what the "enable install on demand" option is for? I don't know.
I've always just assumed that.
