Macro Toolbar Buttons

I created some macros in a template and created a custom toolbar with the
macros activated by the buttons. It all works well when I am on the template.
When I open a new presentation using the template, the toolbar and buttons
appear but they do not activate the macros. I can run the macros by using
Tools -> Macros and selecting the macro and entering run.

What am I doing wrong?

Expecting templates with macros in them to work like they do in Word, I'd guess.

Welcome to PowerPoint, where things are very very different. ;-)

In most cases, you'll need to create an add-in rather than relying on the
template to contain your code.

Steve,

Thanks. I wasn't aware of add ins. I'll give it a try.

Cool. And if something seems seriously backward, weird and unintuitive, there's a
good reason for that. It's because it IS backward, weird and unintuitive. Or some
combination of the three.

In other words, if you get stuck, don't beat your head against it, c'mon back and
ask.
