Macro Error

I was recording Macros this morning without problem, and suddenly they've
gone missing. So when I try to record a new one, I keep getting this pop-up:
"Personal Macro Workbook in the startup folder must stay open for
recording." I don't know what that means. I'm trying to record them in my
personal Macro workbook so I can use them on other workbooks. Any help out
there? Thanks.
 
Personal.xls is a hidden workbook that open with Excel. (If you have one).
Does it show under Window>unhide...

If not then somehow you have deleted it. If you do have one, you may need
to go to your start folder (xlStart, which may be hidden) and move the one
you have out of this place.

Now record a new macr, pointing to the personal.xls. It is possible then
that the old one was corrupt
