Macro compatibility problems between PC and Mac (Excel 97 and Exce

I created a heavy-formatted, macro-intensive spreadsheet (~5 or 6 megs) on a
Mac and was unable to open it on a PC - it crashed Excel. So I recreated it
on a PC, and am now unable to open it on a Mac (it opens but error messages
read "Method or data member not found" and "Run-time error 1004: reference
not valid (Microsoft Visual Basic)" )....

Any ideas?? I read that performing a "save as" in the non-host program
would work, however that didn't work. The macros are pretty simple (sort,
find, filter functions) however there are about 70 or 80 of them. Is that
too many?

MANY MANY thanks!!!!!!!

I wouldn't think 70 or 80 are too many. Hopefully they all aren't in 1
module

anyway, try exporting the code into .bas files (done in the vbe) and
removing them from the current workbook. then save an close it (without the
code) and see if you can open it in the Mac. If this works, then you can
try importing the files - but on the other hand, you might want to keep the
macros in an addin or separate workbook.

I don't have a Mac so this is just something to try.
