Machine rebooting

My dad's computer is acting strange. He instaled SP2 a few weeks ago.
Recently he has been plagued with this problem: As he goes to a few various
web sites (Not random, certain ones in particular) upon clicking on an action
(Print in one, a link in the other) the computer simply ups & reboots. Then
we get the blue screen with disk checker.
It also happens when he clicks on Security Center in Control Panel.
I was trying to help last night ... updated & ran Spybot & Adaware. Found a
number of items in Adaware ... including 180Solutions and VX2. "Fixed" them.
Then I went to Folder Options to put him on Single Click and as soon as I
did, it rebooted.
This does not appear random, although it does happen a lot.
Does this seem to be hardware or software related? Can you please point me
in a proper troubleshooting direction? (He has a Celeron 1.0G w/ 256 RAM)
THANK YOU!!

Hi

If you are seeing a BSOD, could you please post the Stop Code? If not,
right click on My Computer, select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Startup and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen.
