Question about power supply. I have one Macase MG-255 power supply. I
checked all the pins
voltage output with digimeter. All 20 pints seems to all OK but if I
hook on computer, the system is not turn on. The fan is working but
the screen is not turn on. I tried on two other computer, it
caused the same thing. I guess there is nothing wrong with power
supply. Not enough of power???
Could MG-255 means 255 watts that not enough to turn on the system.

That exact model number is not here, but by naming convention, it
does look like a 250W power supply.

It might not be enough to power the whole computer. You could try
the motherboard, plus CPU+heatsink/fan, connect the computer case
speaker, connect the computer case power switch, and switch on.
See if the computer case speaker beeps. If it does, then
your motherboard and CPU are working a little bit.

For many modern computers, you'll need more than 250W.

If you took particular care selecting components, it is possible
to power an entire computer from 250W. But if you bought a 130W
Pentium4 processor, it is a lot less likely to work. If you give
a complete list of the hardware you have connected to the
power supply, it would be easier to answer your question.

I run a 255w power supply on a msi motherboard with a Duron 1200,dvd
player/cd burner and it works fine.but like someone has said depends on
the cpu wattage requirements.Make sure all the pins have the correct
voltage and the boards are good and hook up just the required
components to boot.
