I don't seem to be able to log-in to my mac from my Windows Vista machine. I
can see all the machines on the network. I can even log in to the Mac when I
use virtual PC using Xp on the Vista machine. I can get to the windows vista
machine with no problem from the Mac. The Network is set to private. I'm
stumped

Hello,

Please try this:

- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- Click System and Maintenance
- Click Administrative Tools
- Double-Click Local Security Policy
- In the left pane, click the triangle next to Local Policy
- In the left pane, click Security Options
- In the right pane near the bottom, double-click "Network security: LAN
manager authentication level"
- Click the drop-down box, and click "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session
security if negotiated"
- Click OK
