LU Table and Form

A

Aurora

I am using Access 2000

I created a Look-up Table that consists of 2 columns, 1 is
a name of material and the other column is a code number
for the material. The table was sorted and saved in Alpha
(A-Z) order.

I created a field (Field A) in another table that is
attached to this look-up table. I created a report with
this field in it. I expected to click on the drop down box
and see the list of material in alpha order, click on the
material name and the code number would appear in the
field. But when you click on the drop down field it does
NOT come up in alphabetical order. It is not appear to be
in any order that I can tell.

What am I missing?? Does anyone know how to get this drop
down field to be in alphabetical order by material.

Please help -- Aurora

Never assume anything about the order of data in a table. Relational tables
are "sacks" of data: the records go wherever they want. The only way to
ensure the order in which they're returned is to use a query with an ORDER
BY clause.
