When starting Windows XP Pro, before the logon box
appears, the message "lsass.exe system error X The
endpoint format is invalid." appears.

The keyboard and mouse do not work. Can not reboot the
machine. Have to cut power to reboot.

What can I do to fix this problem. Thanks.

LSASS is the Local Security Authentication Server. It
verifies the validity of user logons to your PC/Server (in
technical jargon : it generates the process that is
responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon
service).

Recommendation :
An integral part of the operating system, leave alone.
