Set up a local printer pointing to the IP printer and share it, then at the
command prompt type:

net use LPT1: \\systemname\printersharename

Can you redirect LPT1 to an IP Address, and if so, how?

You can also select the printer you want to receive LPT1 jobs by right
clicking then properties.
Open the ports tab.
Select enable printer pooling at the bottom.
Mark the boxes for LPT1 and the IP Address.

This will redirect all jobs sent to LPT1 to the IP Address if LPT1 is not
available. I tried it out in both the DOS programs that we still use and
they both printed to the correct printer without a problem.

The name of your system, you can find it by right clicking on "My Computer"
and select properties, then look in the "Computer Name" tab.
