low in virtual memory message

Hello all,

Thank you for the help on my previous questions.

I finally have a running XPE, now we have to install JVM into XPE, I try
to use j2re-1_4_1_02-windows-i586.exe program to install jre into it, but
during the installation, "Low in virtual memory" message pop up from right
bottom on task bar, then the JRE installation program also pop up an error
message, although I can continue to install it, but I can't run java
program, it says "initialize vm error". I uninstall it and reinstall it,
same result, I tried other version of JDK or JRE, same result too. Every
time after "Low in virtual memory" message pop up, the installation program
gets error to, like something wrong for "unpack.exe"...

The memory for my XPE PC is 112MB and hard driver I use to test is 40GB,
is this because the 112MB memory?? Or something wrong in my XPE setting???

Thank you very much!

embedded,

Obviously, have you tried to increase the Pagefile?
Or increase the RAM, at least for testing purposes.

Usually, JVM is much memory consuming software.

Thank you so much, I changed the pagefile size to 256-1024MB, now I can
install JRE with no error messages and I can run java programs. Thanks again
for the advise!!!!

But the strange thing is before I change it, the default size is 0 MB, did I
miss something before I build image?

In your TD Configuration, find your HAL [PC] component (e.g., "Standard PC") and change the "System Pagefile" section parameters on
the component's settings page.
