is anyone else getting a "an unkown error has occurred. Account :Comcast
online, server. 'mail.comcast.net' protocol POP3, Port. 110, Secure(ssl) no,
Error number 0x800C0131" when trying to send or receive emails. Also lists,
possible causes are: low disk space, low memory. I am running 98 with 256kb
of memory, no programs loading (for trying to solve this problem) and 40gb of
drive space, 10% of it being used.

356 KB of RAM could be your problem :)

I have 256MB of RAM and last i checked, 98 only requires 124mbs of ram. I did
however do more searching and discovered the problem and solution.

Here is what you do if you get this error number 0x800C0131 (low disk space
and or low memory) Go to your start window, click on find, in the find all
folders "name" feild type in folders.dbx. Then search the drive you have
outlook on... normally C drive. Once found, rename folders.dbx to folders.old
and restart outlook. Outlook will then build a new folders.dbx which will
eliminate the error for low disk space.
Please note to back up your outlook emails should you wish to keep them...
or do as i did which takes some time... fwd the emails you wish to keep and
send them to yourself again. That way when you restart outlook after changing
the folders.dbx you will have your emails again.

For whatever reason, my folder was filled to the max. (didnt think 200 old
emails would do it but it did).

Im sure as always there's probably another way around this error proplem,
this just happens to be the one i found and worked. I am no way a tech
support software dude!!! :p

Outlook doesn't use .dbx files - that's Outlook Express.

Note that Outlook Express is a totally different program from Outlook, and
has its own newsgroups:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

If you're accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services Community Newsgroups web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number.

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.insideoe.com/
