LOTUS 123 Translation

Help! A friend just gave me a floppy with two very impt
files on them that I need. Unfortunately, the file
format of these file is Lotus 123. His PC (Dell with
Windows OS)is only loaded with Lotus 123. I thought when
I clicked on the files, my Office XP Pro Excel would
easily open them but no luck. I also opened Excel by
itself and then tried to open the files via the Excel
interface but no luck. Can anyone help me?

Will,

Depending on the version of Lotus that your friend has
have him/her save as Excel from within Lotus and then
send them to you.
