Lost word document

I saved but it is lost - I found ~$23-07 Inaugural Meeting - in the Word auto
recover/application data file. However the file prints cryptic gobeldy goog
not my document when I try to open it. A message says the file has
formatting that is preventing it from showing. How do I recover this file.

Try this

Using search, find all *.tmp files created on the date you modified the word
document. Using the file open function in Word open the .tmp file in the
path found using find. This should be the .tmp (temp) file created for your
document.
