Question: Would SP2 CD-ROM correct problem

Qurstion: Would Windows XP Home CD-ROM solve problem

In process of obtaining both (I hope)

Comments?

Continue to wait for CD-ROM Home Edition of XP. Been
waiting 10 days for possible access to Windows so I may
uninstall SP2.
Question: Why doesn't Microsoft possess a corrective
action for suggested updates? Tried several suggestions
from Microsoft to no avail.
If an update with over 70 MBs prevents access to Windows,
there should be a CD-ROM available to correct the problem.
Goes to show you when there is a monopoly with one company
in control, there is no option but to turn the computer
off.

Question: Would Windows XP Home CD-ROM solve problem

That was one of my original questions...so far, I am able
to answer, "No." I was referred to 875355 "How to use the
Automatic Recovery feature to recover your computer if
Windows XP service pack 2 setup program is not completed
successfully" by a microsoft tech-rep. I have followed
the steps to 1.e. "When prompted, type the Administrator
password, and then press ENTER.
Question: What is the password?

By the way, I have attempted to go the other route, among
others, and they do not solve the problem.
