I can't get Task Manager to launch; I can get the window
to pop up but when I click on "task manager" button,
nothing appears to happen.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jim

I worked on a Dell system that, for some reason, had the
taskmgr.exe file in the i386 directory instead of
windows/system directory, I copied the file from the i386
folder to the windows/system folder and it pops up like
jackflash now. Anyway, check and see if you have the
taskmgr.exe file in the windows/system folder (it's icon
is a little computer), if not search for it on your hard
drive and copy it over or extract it from the XP cd.
Note that there also viruses, such as the klez worm, that
may be causing this, and they also generally disable your
anti-virus software, regedit, etc.
