I inadvertently sent a download to System32 - I cannot find that file.
Search cannot find the file. I went to "C" and clicked on "system" nothing
came up. Imperative I find and retrieve the file. Instructions for locating
the System 32 file folder will be very much appreciated. Pat Miller

Your System32 folder is located in your windows folder.

Click My Computer, click the drive windows is installed on ( most probably
c: drive ), open the Windows folder and in their you will find your System32
folder.

why did you download a file directly to System32 folder ?

The %Windir%\System32\ folder is a hidden, protected operating system
folder. In order to see it, and its contents, you'll need to modify
your Windows Explorer Folder options accordingly.

The download filled in the name and it seemed reasonable to me. HaHa. It
was an anti virus application which read "System32NAV061220". Figured it
was downloading to the file folder for the application.. Didn't think I
would have a problem finding it. I put System32 into the search and the dog
couldn't sniff it out.

Thanks a bunch for the instructions - file retrieved - - all is well. Pat

In Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options > View, and then
select and/or de-select the options that provide the specific view you
desire. (Hint: "Show hidden files and folders" and "Hide protected
operating system files")

You know we are not all MVP's.

Nor does one need to be, in order to read the Help file.
