lost sound

I was listening to a CD and while it was playing, I set my keyboard
ontop of my printer and at that point the sound stopped. The indicator
indicated that the CD was playing, but no sound.

I checked Control Panel and Device Manager. Everything shows to be
operating normal.

I tried other CD and music on file on the hard drive.

The windows sounds still work, just NO MUSIC.

I checked all connection and all are plugged in properly.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Ben

When you moved it, did you press any mute keys, etc without knowing?

And what happened?

Did you try another CD-Rom?

I checked the MUTE box with the speaker icon, it is unchecked.

Does your keyboard have audio control buttons? Perhaps you accidentally hit the mute button. If so and you have a speaker icon displayed on your task bar it should have a / across the speaker icon.

No MUTE on keyboard. I put a music CD in and as it was playing, I
pressed every key on the keyboard, nothing changed.

Thanks, Ben

Did a SYSTEM RESTORE, that corrected the problem.

I mush have hit some key combination when I first moved the keyboard,
don't have least idea what.

Thanks to all.
